Run for a Cause

For the past several months I’ve been in intense training for this half-marathon in my home town. It’s going to take place at the very end of this summer, and I cannot wait. Ever since the first day of training my emotions have been running wild; my energy level when talking about the race sky-rockets. It’s something about the fact that I love running and giving back to the community that really brightens my day. Running those 13.1 or 26.2 miles flies by so quickly for me now because the fact that I’m doing a good deed for my community is all I can think about.

When it comes to participating in a marathon fundraiser the amount of money you can raise for these charities is endless. It’s always good to have a nice team of friends and family to back you up not only when raising money for the marathon fundraiser but in the race alone. It’s great to know that people out there care about the same causes as you and that you can give money back to those charities just by doing something that you love. For me it’s running but for you it could be something totally different.

You should however, totally check out the marathon fundraisers that are taking place in your area, and give it a try. Even if you’re not the most avid runner participating in a marathon fundraising event makes you feel good about yourself and your community. Giving back is the way to go; honestly no one cares if you came in last when you were the top money-raiser for the largest charity in the nation.

Starting Your Marathon Fundraiser

I’ve ran in so many marathons and races, I can’t even keep them straight. Even after torn ligaments, bruised knees and blistered toes, I still continue to enter these races for no other reason than to help raise money for charity. Every year, I put together marathon fundraisers. With a marathon fundraiser, you have the ability to raise a ton of money. It’s all about being persistent. I have wonderful friends and family that support me in my journey every year to raise money for the charities I love.

I am using Crowdrise to build my marathon fundraising page. It’s basically a site that allows me to build a marathon fundraiser at no cost and share with all of my supporters. It’s incredibly viral which is key to getting the word out about charities.

You should check it out whenever you get a chance. All you need to do is pick a charity you’d like to do your marathon fundraiser for and write a quick paragraph about the race and why you chose the charity. Then share with everyone you know and hopefully raise some money. I promise it will make you run faster and want to race all over again.
